Directions for Use

Directions for Cleaning Concrete Floors

  1. For best results, remove loose debris from floor, then apply Sound 3300 Oil Eliminator HD to dry surface with a low-pressure sprayer. For the first application, use full strength (extremely heavy build-up of hydrocarbons may require several applications). One gallon will treat approximately 500 square feet.
  2. Using a stiff bristled broom, brush the treated area at least three times. The broom will stir up the product and residue for faster results.
  3. Let stand on floor for one hour, keeping it damp by misting with water and occasionally brushing with the broom (this helps keep the bacteria mobile). Do not allow product to evaporate to a dry state.
  4. Vacuum oily water with a shop vacuum that has sawdust in the tank. Add more sawdust, if needed, to soak up excess water. Sound 3300 Oil Eliminator HD will continue to eat the oily contents.
  5. Check with your local EPA for disposal in your area.

Concrete Maintenance Cleaning

Use a solution of 1:4 (1 quart Sound 3300 Oil Eliminator HD to 1 gallon of water) for daily maintenance mopping. This solution also works well for oil spills. Mop the soiled area and leave the solution on the floor. This revitalizes the bacterial colonies to keep your floor clean of hydrocarbon residue. DO NOT DRY MOP. Leaving the mop in the bucket of solution will keep the mop clean of oils.

Recommended Equipment

  1. Clean pressure sprayer to apply Sound 3300 Oil Eliminator HD solution
  2. Stiff bristled broom
  3. A second sprayer to apply accelerator and clean water
  4. Shop vacuum with water pick-up attachment
  5. Sawdust
  6. Rubber gloves and eye protection
  7. Plastic garbage bags

Directions for Bilge Cleaning

We recommend using Sound 3300 Oil Eliminator HD for heavy duty bilge cleaning -- to give the bilge an initial exposure of bacteria and break the surface tension of the oil. Once the bilge water is in a clean state, use Sound 1000 Remediator for ongoing maintenance to keep the bilge clean.
  1. Turn off the bilge pump and pour Sound 3300 Oil Eliminator HD into the bilge on a 1 to 6 ratio (depending on concentration of contaminants), equally distributing within the bilge and limber holes.
  2. Aeration is important; the rolling action of the vessel provides oxygen for the bacteria to propagate and helps distributes the product within the bilge.
  3. Leave Sound 3300 Oil Eliminator HD in the bilge for at least 4 to 5 days.
  4. Pump the bilge to an authorized waste reception facility.
